Piper Companies is currently looking for a Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) in Fort Meade, MD. This Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) will join a large global enterprise looking to design, architect, and support work on critical networks with innovative solutions.
Requirements for a Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) include:
Provides technical expertise and escalation support in documenting and resolving technical problems found in products and solutions
Solve extremely complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation factors with imaginative and innovative troubleshooting and experimentation
Advanced understanding of software programming, automation, orchestration, virtualization and/or security
Translate business requirements into solution design
Client facing experience; 3-4 days onsite
Qualification for a Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) include:
5+ years of experience working with Data Center or Route Switch technical domains
vPC, fabricpath, STP experience
Data Center Layer 2; VXLAN, OTV, EVPN
Routing Protocols and features; OSPF, ISIS, MBGP, IBGP, PBR, BFD
Must understand Data Center Networking; NEXUS, UCS, etc
Advanced knowledge of IP Routing, Internetworking, MPLS, LAN Switching, Multicast, Route Redistribution
Networking management protocols; PTP, NTP, DNS, DHCP
Bachelors in a technical field (CS/EE preferred), or equivalent 8+ years of related experience
CISSP, Security + or equivalent required
Compensation for a Consulting Engineer (Data Center/Route Switch) include:
Salary range: $165,000 - $180,000
Comprehensive benefits package through Cigna; including Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, Sick days as required by law, and Holidays
