Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Business Analyst with one of our premier Insurance clients on a remote opportunity.

Our client is looking for a Business Analyst who offers expertise in advanced excel skills and have knowledge of accounting principles. They'll be working with many excel files where the data needs to be aggregated, validated and then passed onto the client's financial systems.

Conduct production-oriented activities by entering and extracting information from various applications and systems, manipulating data in spreadsheets; identifying and researching anomalies; and making corrections as needed. Use the information gathered to develop standard reports; may draw conclusions about trends, variances (against plan, year-over-year, etc.) and business performance; presents information and distributes reports. Assist others with conducting business research by gathering data, identifying options, performing cost-benefits analyses, and creating non-routine reports with detailed analyses and/or proposals to create or revise management policies, business processes and services provided to customers. Work with other departments to coordinate activities and project work to ensure customer expectations are met. Assists in problem resolution as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with company policies.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply standard policies, procedures and other established guidelines. Effective analytical/problem solving and research skills. Excellent Excel skills, ability to work with and analyze large data files that are interrelated and combined to feed internal financial systems. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work across functional areas to solve problems. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Knowledge of accounting principles. Excellent communication skills as this role requires internal and external (customer facing) communication. Proficiency with personal computers, spreadsheets and database software.
