Job Description:
This is a Switch Cutover Project Manager cutting over old Voice switches to new VoIP Switches G5, G6, T1000 and C20 s.
They work with Ribbon comm., the network build and audit and power down teams.
Will be doing all Voice/TDM stuff.
Deliverables:
- Identify required IDLC systems, select transport assignments, establish supporting CLO s and establish connectivity.
- Create spreadsheet identifying each existing IDLC system and associate them with a G6 STS-1 port. Work with Transport & OSP to issue and design T1 orders.
- Work with Transport organization (OCO) to identify mapping requirements for specific site.
- Work with local CO personnel to cross connect all required DSX appearances.
- Identify required trunking, select transport assignments, establish supporting CLO s and establish connectivity.
- Create spreadsheet identifying each existing customer trunk group (PRI, DID, Tie Line) and associate them with a G6 STS-1 port.
- Work with Transport & CPC to issue and design T1 orders.
- Work with Transport organization (OCO) to identify mapping requirements for specific site.
- Work with local CO personnel to cross connect all required DSX appearances.
- Roll existing customer trunks (PRI, DID, Tie Lines) from old Switch to new Switch prior to scheduled Switch cutover.
- Identify & document customer contact information for scheduling purposes.
- Work with NCP-LS team to contact and schedule trunk roll. Work with NCP-LS team to perform actual roll from old Switch to new Switch and test with customer to insure trunk functionality.
- Establish switch line database.
- Purify existing Switch line database by bashing Switch database, SWITCH/FOMS database and Billing database.
- Work with NAC to establish a new OE range to be built in SWITCH/FOMS.
- Have SWITCH/FOMS database manager establish Dial Transfer (DTR).
- Have CO frame personnel run MDF jumpers per the DTR and track to completion:
- Establish and run board to board tests (Trunk wiring verification).
- Identify and establish No-Test trunk functionality between old Switch and new Switch.
- Work with vendor to obtain line database for use with Board-to-Board test unit.
- Run Board to Board function and work with CO team to trouble shoot failures until a less than one percent failure rate has been obtained (when used in support of a cutover).
- Ensure Field organization has method to track and document Board to Board failure results, method should include a process to not repeat troubleshooting circuits that are wired correctly but test as failures (known failures).
- Request IT to provide SWITCH/FOMS data for Board-to-Board failures by providing a list of failing TNs (when used in support of a cutover).
- Acquire customer contact information for all customer ended trunks, Tie Lines, DID s and PRI s, required for scheduling trunk rolls to meet customer service demands.
- Provide information to CPC for any Tie Line s, DID s or PRI s that need orders to be established in new Switch, work with Vendor/Trunking to provision T1 facilities in new Switch.
- Identify/Document IOF requirements for new Switch.
- Determine quantity and color of MDF jumper wire, best to use a different color wire than existing OE line jumpers.
- Determine number of DTR s required to expedite jumper running, i.e. POTS order (OE to Cable Pair), DSL order (OE to DSL)
- Identify/Document Board to Board requirements, i.e. No Test Trunk from existing Switch, Connectivity to automated Board to Board equipment.
- Ensure switch services vendor applies line features to line database immediately after initial line load to allow Verizon sufficient time to audit lines for proper feature implementation.
- Manage the Digital Loop Carriers, BRI, P-Phone and LCME digital line conversions.
- Develop and implement the cutover strategy to ensure customer service integrity.
- Develop a Switch Cutover Plan include specific dates, times, work functions and responsible individuals/organizations (include contact numbers).
- Oversee & direct each task on the Cutover Plan and track each task to insure completion.
- Develop a comprehensive task list for required work activity on cutover day, prior to and after Switch cutover.
- Include specific work activity and names, contact numbers, 911 info Trunks, Specials, Voice Mail activity.
- Conduct switch cutover on scheduled date.
- Ensure disconnect orders are issued post cutover for Trunking, CCS7 Links and Voice Mail hunt groups (if not required for new Switch).
- Provide new OE assignments to CPC to update TIRKS information on Switch Specials post cutover.
- Switch Cutover shall take the form of small, medium or large units of work.

- Medium Cutover: Small/medium hosts
- Large Cutover: Large hosts
