We're searching for a passionate Design Engineer with a creative mind and a knack for innovation to join our team. At Fat Brain Toys, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, dynamic toy company dedicated to enriching families through play.

About the Role: As a Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing unique, innovative toys and games that align with our brand's mission and vision. You’ll blend art, business, and engineering to create products that are functional, safe, aesthetically appealing, and manufacturable—always keeping costs and usability in mind.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop creative concepts and finished products for toddler, preschool, games, arts & crafts, and other categories.
  • Translate current trends into designs that resonate with children and families.
  • Create polished product renderings for marketing purposes to showcase new designs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, Engineering, Packaging, Legal, Manufacturing, and Product Integrity.
  • Take designs from concept to production by creating illustrations, technical drawings, and CAD designs for manufacturing.
  • Oversee phases of design development and refine carry-forward products.
  • Ensure alignment with branded strategies and maintain high standards for product quality and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in product or industrial design, preferably within the toy industry.
  • Proficient in Fusion 360, CAD design, rendering, and 3D printing.
  • Strong skills in creating high-quality product renderings for presentations and marketing.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about product design, with an eye for detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
