Job Overview
AWS Carpenter Contractors is a long-standing, commercial owned custom cabinet builder. Our expert craftsmen in our mill shop provide only the highest quality materials and products, looking for a Shop Helper in our finishing department.
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable individual to assist in the painting and finishing department of our workshop. The General Helper will support the team with various tasks to ensure smooth operations and high-quality results. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND RELIABLE VEHICLE
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of materials for painting, including sanding, cleaning, and masking surfaces.
Organize and maintain the work area to ensure cleanliness and safety.
Help mix paints and coatings as directed by the supervisor.
Load and unload parts onto finishing racks or conveyors.
Inspect finished pieces for quality and report any defects.
Transport materials, tools, and finished products within the workshop as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform general maintenance of painting equipment, such as cleaning brushes and spray guns.
Support Team Members With Additional Tasks As Required.
Qualifications:
Must have Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.
Must be able to pass a background check
Prior experience in a workshop or painting environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Physical stamina to lift, move, and position materials (up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]).
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Working Conditions:
Workshop environment with exposure to paints, fumes, and loud noises.
May require standing for long periods and occasional overtime.
40 hours - Monday through Friday (Some Saturdays)
