The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Middleburg, VA-based team, specializing in managing construction and millwork projects for educational spaces.
As a Project Engineer, you will support project execution from start to finish, gaining hands-on experience while working closely with senior project managers. This role is designed for someone looking to grow into a full-fledged Project Manager, with exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing multiple construction projects focused on millwork and educational spaces.
- Support project planning, material procurement, scheduling, and on-site coordination.
- Review architectural drawings and specifications, assisting with submittals and RFIs.
- Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Track project budgets, timelines, and documentation to support project profitability.
- Participate in site visits, learning how to oversee installations and problem-solve in real time.
Who We re Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, specialty contracting, or a related field.
- Background in technical roles, fieldwork, or hands-on project involvement (e.g., construction technician, installer, foreman, project coordinator, or trade school instructor).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, contracts, and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to take initiative.
- A team-oriented mindset with a do whatever it takes attitude.
- Local to Middleburg, VA, or within a commutable distance (up to 1 hour).
