IT Manager Transportation Systems, you will be responsible for the selection, architecture, and support of our logistics/transportation systems, working closely with Logistics teams

Responsibilities:

  • Work with logistics teams to understand the transportation and logistics business objectives and processes, for both ground transportation within North America (including company dedicated fleet, third party carriers for FTL and LTL, and parcels/courier service), and global Ocean freight.
  • Analyze business needs and objectives to determine where current systems (primarily Oracle Transportation Manager and Omnitracs) and specific implementations can/should be enhanced, as well as opportunities for process improvement or increased efficiency.
  • Design and oversee the development of integrations with third party logistics providers, including API and EDI integration.
  • Support and manage the operation of Logistics systems, including managing user help desk requests, upgrades, and necessary downtimes.
  • Maintain relationships with software vendors providing key logistics applications (Oracle, Solara, and others) and provide other groups with insights regarding product roadmaps and capabilities.
  • Integrate third-party information (e.g., Inttra, Project 44, Terminal 49) and maintain relationships with these vendors.
  • Manage third party consultants (e.g., KSAP) providing technical expertise and performing development in logistics systems.
  • Work with other application groups within IT to provide integration with existing business systems (e.g., ERP and reporting/BI)
  • Work with IT Infrastructure group to maximize performance, provide availability and maintain security of logistics systems.
  • Manage projects within the logistics area and raise concerns as appropriate.
  • Manage technology/systems spend within Logistics applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field
  • 8-10 years of IT business application experience, including at least 3-4 years as a business analyst & project manager
  • Strong supply chain and logistics background, including knowledge of Ocean Freight, Ground Transportation management, and associated EDI Transactions
  • Knowledge of and experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM)
  • Ability to travel occasionally (not more than 25% overall, but will vary based upon projects)
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
  • APICS or other Supply Chain/Logistics certification is a plus.
