Job Description:
Endur Test Lead:
- Responsible for developing and implementing a test strategy for the migration of European Gas, Power and Carbon trading from Aligne to the latest version of Endur.
- This will be a greenfield Endur implementation, defining and adopting best practice in every aspect of the project including the testing function.
- A key deliverable will be the ability to regression test a significant proportion of the solution with little involvement from the business. New versions of Endur should be deployable with confidence in weeks, not months as a result.
Responsibilities
- Selection and implementation of appropriate test tools
- Designing and implementing a scalable, optimized API-based testing approach, focused on automation and minimizing manual testing
- Recruit, lead, coach and develop a team, directing them to deliver an effective end-to-end test capability including smoke, acceptance, integration, system, regression and performance tests
- Understanding the requirements of the business and ensure testing adequately covers these needs within practical constraints such as time and cost
- Effective communication with other senior stakeholders across the project, particularly progress reporting
- Working closely with the Development Lead to ensure customizations are more easily testable
- Working with other test leads (e.g. on the SENA & LNG Endur projects) to ensure best practice approaches can be leveraged across Shell Energy
Endur Knowledge Requirements - Deep knowledge of the Endur application and the challenges this presents for most test tools and traditional testing models
- Understanding the importance of JVS and OpenComponents in the context of an API-based testing approach
- Knowledge and understanding of key Endur concepts such as:
o Grid
o Domain Services - (APM, Credit, Log Monitor etc.)
o Workflows
o User Defined Simulation results (UDSRs)
o Accounting - Experience testing Endur integrations (both inbound and outbound)
- Knowledge of the Endur data model for transactional data, with focus on power and gas markets
- Knowledge of the Endur data model for static data
General Requirements:
- Experience running a distributed testing team
- Effective management of tasks, timelines, and progress reporting to senior management stakeholders
- Understanding of the pros and cons of available Endur testing tools in the market, and experience of at least one
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience of agile and waterfall delivery methodologies, often in combination
- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development testing (BDD testing)
- Technical skills such as SQL, Azure, PowerShell scripting, JVS and OpenComponents an advantage
- Must have experience following a structured CI/CD process to ensure standards and processes are uniformly upheld
