Job Description
This position provides technical network communications support. The role requires functional knowledge of network (LAN/WAN) communications technologies and contributes to the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and VoIP technologies. The Network Technician recommends and obtains approval for network and security design changes that affect all supported sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comptia Network+ Certification: Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite, network infrastructure components (routers, switches), and network operations (VLANs, ACLs, management access).
- Networking Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using the OSI Model.
- Network Management Tools & Protocols: Familiarity with SNMP, CLI, and network monitoring platforms.
- ServiceNow Experience: Experience working within a ServiceNow ticketing system.
- CCNA Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate certification is preferred.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Customer Service Orientation: Commitment to providing courteous and efficient support to internal and external users.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to users and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
