Financial Reporting Manager
The Financial Reporting Manager will support the Accounting and Finance team to improve automation, create additional reports for improved analysis to provide data points for decision making as well as improve accuracy of financial statements through continuous improvement of accounting processes.
About The ROLE
Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as Financial Reporting Manager in the Accounting and Finance Department you will:
- Coordinate performance analysis and forecasts, working with all programs to understand performance, variances, risks, and opportunities and effectively report information to Accounting/Finance Team leadership and executive leadership.
- Establish oneself as a trusted partner to peers and senior leaders with an intimate understanding of stakeholder requirements to run the business.
- Analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance.
- Responsible for using exceptional analytical skills to analyze business trends and results and provide financial decision support.
- Analyze the trends relating to financial metrics such as revenue, expenditure, and profitability.
- Oversees the financial reporting activities of the Corporate Accounting for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports that supports the organization’s goals and objectives, i.e. preparation of month end statements in accordance with compliance standards; preparation of regulatory statements for DOI coordination of all annual financial audits; preparation of schedules and ad hoc reporting, cash flow reporting; trend analysis; and communication of such to senior management.
- Maintain general ledger reports and system infrastructure
- Assist with annual financial audits.
- Participate in the annual planning process and routine forecasts as well as identify areas for improvement in processes and reporting.
- Plan, facilitate, and implement ad hoc analysis to support decision making, evaluate business initiatives and evaluate performance.
About YOU
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and acceptable levels of accuracy
- High level understanding of Accounting Principals
- Ability to understand business needs and apply analytical skills to producing actionable data.
- A minimum of (5) years of P&C experience and a degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience in balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Financial system experience including general ledger and data warehouse tools.
- CPA or MBA
- Managing accounting or finance team
- Experience in insurance
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
