Scrum Master [Banking domain]
Our Challenge:
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic team within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams on Agile practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the banking domain. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working within a regulated industry.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Irving, TX is $90k-$95k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Collaborate with product owners to ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and understood by the team.
- Remove impediments and obstacles that may hinder the team's progress, ensuring a smooth flow of work.
- Work closely with stakeholders to align project goals and expectations while managing risks and dependencies.
- Monitor and report on team performance metrics and progress towards goals, providing insights for improvement.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to Agile best practices and compliance with banking regulations.
- Support the organization in its Agile transformation journey by promoting Agile values and principles.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role, preferably within the banking or financial services domain.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and experience implementing them in a team setting.
- Proven experience in facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching teams on Agile practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar).
- Scrum Master certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM)) is highly preferred.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience in the banking industry, with a solid understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
