SAP S/4 Basis Consultant

Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership of daily operations for SAP BASIS activities, including oversight and accountability for relevant global incident/event/request queues, advanced people management of direct and indirect reports within the team. Including all PMP processes.


• Provide oversight and governance for projects, execute project plans, provide project estimates and landscape recommendations.


• Work in a fast-paced environment and cooperate with various project teams, including production support teams located off premise

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors, Masters or higher degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution or equivalent


• 10+ years of SAP BASIS work experience;


• Demonstrated SAP HANA


• Experience working in a consulting and/or large scale IT organization with at least 3 SAP project implementations of high complexity, at large scale.


• Completion of a 2+ previous SAP S/4 project upgrades


• Hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS knowledge;


• Demonstrated SAP & SAP HANA on AWS public cloud experience required;


• Ability to work collaboratively across project teams;


• Ability to work flexible hours based on varying business requirements;


• Understanding of the nature of OLTP and OLAP systems, including specific roles of SAP S/4, BW, PO, Solution Management, SLT, Gateway, Enterprise Portal.


• Understanding the SAP application architecture, SAP NetWeaver technology (ABAP and Java, alike), instance, work-process nature and roles, ICM, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, Logon Load Balancing, SAP router configuration and setup;


• Deployment approach and strategies for SAP GUI, EPM add-on, Analysis for Office (AOE), SAP HANA Studio; Experience with Fiori and other advanced SAP stacks;


• Solid understanding of best SAP practices, archiving, system copies, single-sign-on, encryption, SAP SNC;


• Experience integrating and operating 3rd party applications required for change management process, monitoring, troubleshooting;


• Experience installing, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting SAP applications and SAP HANA Databases;


• Experience following protocols and standards specific to SAP large scale implementation;


• Experience working with SAP support on troubleshooting various issues: understanding the nature of the problem, raising OSS incidents, providing necessary support to SAP analyst to investigate problems.

Desired Characteristics:

• Familiarity with SAP HANA and other database systems: understanding backups, restores, and other database operations: index rebuilds, segment statistics collection, table partitioning, cost based optimizer, SQL tracing, locks, deadlocks, high-availability solutions. ;


• Familiarity with operating systems, networking and infrastructure concepts that are related to SAP environments: OS commands, OS account administration, disk and volume management, file system concepts, LANS, WANS, Routers, DNS, VPN, NAT, TCP/IP protocols, etc.;


• Familiarity with AWS concepts (cloud, zones, network load balancers, application load balancers, file-system solutions, etc.);


• Understanding the SAP HANA technology, detailed understanding of in-memory computing, backups and restores, BACKINT, SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio, HANA Replication Services solutions;


• Understanding high-availability, disaster-recovery concepts and SAP technology surrounding the following scenarios;


• System landscape configurations and operations: administrating Sap applications: starting/stopping SAP instances, printer management, Sap security operations, monitoring the Sap system for health and performance issues, background jobs management operations, transport management system, Sap kernel updates, SAP application upgrades, implementing Sap OSS notes, applying SAP add-ons and support packages, application tuning;

• Expertise in IT & business controllership requirements


• Expertise in SAP security integration and controls


• Expertise on multiple SAP systems including SOH, S/4, BW, Solution Manager


• Excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills


• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT


• A self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge


• Demonstrable collaboration and teamwork skills


• Strong adherence to IT/SAP project methodologies, and change control processes


• Experience using integration tools like Mulesoft
