About The Role

We need an engineer that loves learning new technology and uses it to deliver sustainable business solutions. Our focus is helping engineering teams know how their systems are performing, so they can find problems before customers do. We believe in automating whenever possible, and so we firmly believe in pull requests, infrastructure as code, and failing fast. We are also advocates for best practices, and regularly train internal teams on how they can use our technologies.

Expected responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with multiple teams to design, deploy, and support large scale clustered software platforms in multiple datacenters and public clouds around the world
  • Deliver highly secure and efficient solutions within comprehensive compliance regulations (including FedRAMP, SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
  • Integrate diverse technologies in multiple environments to provide monitoring, alerting, and reporting of performance and costs
  • Work in an agile operations framework, balancing sprint-based work with daily operational needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system outages or performance impact and communicate findings for ongoing improvement
  • Work with third-party hardware and software vendors to recommend solutions and drive performance/cost efficiency
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience or capability in the following areas:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience deploying a modern observability stack (New Relic/OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana preferred)
  • Experience building and deploying applications on Kubernetes (Helm/Argo preferred)
  • Experience in public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with Linux, including large scale OS deployment and automation
  • Knowledge of software version control systems and release management (Git preferred)
  • 1-2 years development experience with programming languages (Go, Java)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

About Our Ideal Candidate

  • Has New Relic experience using Synthetics, NRQL, APM, and website performance monitoring.
  • Has used a variety of open source observability technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Cortex, Jaeger
  • Analytical with the ability to troubleshoot complex system problems, to assess/resolve system performance problems, and can troubleshoot situations looking for all the options and turning over every rock to find the best solution
  • Eager to learn, able to take guidance, and able to understand that there is always more to learn
  • Ability to work hard as a member of a team that is asked to do a lot, while always remaining focused on reliability

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $113,400 -- $206,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
