Mammography Technologist Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing mammographic imaging procedures to assist in the early detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. You will work closely with patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while obtaining high-quality diagnostic images. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in medical imaging techniques.

Duties

  • Perform mammography procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations based on imaging results.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and assist in further diagnostic procedures if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Stay current with advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
  • Educate patients about the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Requirements

  • Certification ARRT
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging techniques.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic radiology practices, including CT scans, nuclear medicine, PET scans, and emergency medicine protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
