Business Operations Associate

Performance Systems Development (PSD) is looking for a generalist Business Operations Associate to help build and support the analytical and reporting functions at the company. In this role, the right candidate will help analyze financial information, build tooling to help with project management with cross-functional teams, and be a general “swiss army knife” when it comes to tackling odds and ends that arise both within the admin team and elsewhere in the company. This role is part analyst, part project manager, part systems builder, and ultimately is the right opportunity for someone hoping to come in and learn about many parts of the business while working closely with our senior leadership team.

Who is PSD?

PSD is a rapidly growing national leader in the building science and energy efficiency industries; in 2023, we’ve reached 100 employees and are celebrating our 25th anniversary. PSD’s passionate team of energy efficiency professionals works hard every day to develop and deliver creative and powerful solutions that drive change in the way buildings use energy. PSD provides a whole-systems approach to energy efficiency strategies through our work on advancing energy policies, designing and delivering cost-effective energy efficiency programs, and building software tools to streamline data tracking and reporting. Our core business efforts span three major areas: 1) the delivery of high-impact energy efficiency programs; 2) workforce development and industry training; and 3) the design and development of systems that create, manage and analyze energy efficiency data.

What will you do?

This role will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis by extracting data from QuickBooks and financial modeling tools, using Excel for data manipulation, and delivering actionable insights to business leaders. It will also involve building and optimizing reporting systems, integrating data from various sources using tools like Smartsheets and Microsoft’s project management suite. Additionally, the role includes project management responsibilities, overseeing initiatives such as new tool implementations and performance tracking. Lastly, the position requires administrative support with a hands-on approach, handling various tasks as needed.

This position can either be remotely based or in an office, depending on location. If remotely based, the ability to work comfortably from home is a must.
