Position Overview:

American Dawn, Inc., a leading importer and distributor of textile products across diverse industries (food & beverage, health care, and hospitality), is seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This newly created role, reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain, will lead product quality and regulatory compliance efforts across our global consumer goods operations. The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring product quality, managing compliance with regulations, and overseeing a team of two direct reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sourcing, purchasing, product development, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs and procedures.
  • Oversee quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and analysis.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure products meet defined quality standards and specifications.
  • Managing documentation and creating applicable SOP’s for the quality functions.
  • Data analysis and development of KPI’s.
  • Develop and implement color management systems i.e. color/print standards, shade bands, etc.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay current on relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Ensure products comply with all applicable regulations, including safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify compliance gaps and take corrective actions.
  • Manage product certifications and registrations.

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts to ensure consistency in product quality.
  • Developing and managing the Quality portion of the Vendor Scorecard.

Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate product failures and defects to determine root causes.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Work with product development and sourcing teams to enhance product quality.

Customer Complaints:

  • Handle and resolve customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Analyze feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of quality management experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the industrial products or consumer goods sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textiles, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to oversee supplier operations and build strong supplier relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of product quality, competitive products, and market trends.
  • Expertise in global quality assurance and compliance for consumer goods.
  • In-depth understanding of US regulations for consumer goods.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, ASTM, AATCC).
  • Experience with product testing and certification processes.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Quality related experience with textiles (bed, bath, & apparel) and EVS (paper, microfiber & liners) products.
