Who are you?

BBB Heart of Texas seeks a responsible individual to join our Austin office as a Finance Manager. You will be a key leader in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization by overseeing a wide range of accounting and financial operations.

About The Position

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing critical financial processes such as payroll administration, month-end close, reconciliations, and data analysis while driving continuous improvement in internal controls and financial reporting accuracy, The Finance Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable financial insights, guide decision-making, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, this position will oversee the work of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Coordinators, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed in compliance with established policies and procedures. The Finance Manager will also play a key role in troubleshooting accounting system issues, implementing necessary clean-up activities, and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financial systems. This position will foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency across the organization by consistently managing KPIs, conducting root-cause analyses of discrepancies, and recommending solutions to improve overall financial performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including payroll processing, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. This includes monitoring and analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. Provide guidance and support to these teams while implementing effective internal controls and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and improving internal financial systems and procedures, including troubleshooting and data clean-up activities. Lead efforts to resolve accounting system issues, ensuring the integrity of financial records and compliance with organizational policies
  • Drive the establishment and management of key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly reviewing financial performance against organizational goals. Conduct root cause analysis of discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial processes and implement corrective actions to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies align with the organization’s broader goals, providing financial insights and reporting that support decision-making. As needed, contribute to audit preparation, financial statement review, and other key financial management tasks

Additional Duties:

  • Ensure continuous development of financial processes to improve overall organizational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with various departments to align financial strategies with company goals
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the AP and AR teams, fostering an environment of growth and efficiency
  • Participate in management meetings to provide financial insights and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Perform other duties as required by the Director of Finance

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent in a business-related field/accounting, finance
  • 4+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Experience with financial software and accounting platforms
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Not-for-profit accounting and leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct
  • Familiarity with GAAP, accrual, and cash basis of accounting
