Job Summary
Strategic Accounts Originators are responsible for driving growth and maintaining client relationships. They oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, working both inside and outside of the office, pursuing revenue generation opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts for large, Commercial & Industrial (C&I) power and gas loads, including identifying new opportunities and nurturing client partnerships.
- Focused on the Manufacturing & Chemicals industry vertical, which includes heavy industry, engineered products, industrial equipment, specialty chemicals, raw material synthesis, among others.
- Working with other Priority team members, advise clients on the entire suite of energy solutions Priority offers, including site selection, grid interconnection, grid infrastructure, generation and load optimization, behind the meter assets, renewables and energy storage purchases, energy procurement, and regulatory and market data insights.
- Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring smooth transitions and exceptional client experiences.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor in navigating energy strategies and solutions.
- Conduct both inside and outside revenue generation activities, leveraging industry events and client meetings to drive growth.
- Stay abreast of market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and enhance client value propositions.
Required Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Energy Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably in the energy industry.
- 10+ years in large C&I power or gas procurement, advisory, or infrastructure.
- 5+ years working in, or with, the manufacturing and chemicals space.
- Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and maintaining client relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
- Solid understanding of energy markets, products, and industry dynamics.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Business Energy Professional (BEP).
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and sales prospecting and automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, conduct competitive research, and develop strategic sales plans.
- Network of contacts within the energy industry and relevant professional associations.
- 20-80% travel, as necessary, to develop business relationships and assess business leads and opportunities.
