About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Product Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations (Part 24, Part 145, 8130-2’s) while driving continuous improvement in product quality and reliability. This position plays a crucial role in managing key quality processes, performing failure analysis, and interfacing directly with customers and regulatory bodies to ensure our products meet and exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA (Part 24, Part 145, 8130-2’s) standards and regulations.
- Develop and track key quality metrics, driving initiatives for continual process and product improvement.
- Lead and support critical quality processes, including Non-Conformance, CAPA, change management, field events, risk management, and audits.
- Prepare, review, and approve PPAP documentation to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Conduct in-depth failure analysis investigations to determine root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Design, implement, and maintain effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence of failures.
- Prepare, review, and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation in accordance with FAA AS9102 requirements.
- Provide customer and regulatory feedback to development teams to ensure compliance with expectations.
- Own and manage Non-Conforming Materials and Materials Review Board (MRB) processes, focusing on reducing discrepant material inventory.
- Perform periodic reviews of customer-specific requirements to ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Serve as the direct interface with customers, supporting meetings, certifications, evaluations, inspections, and tests.
- Support and coordinate on-site customer and regulatory audits to maintain compliance and quality excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical degree or 20 years of equivalent experience in quality engineering, aerospace, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience interfacing with customers on quality and compliance matters.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including data analysis and technical reporting.
- Demonstrated experience driving quality and reliability during new product development.
- Extensive knowledge in creating and executing test plans for complex electro-mechanical systems, including reliability, performance, functional, and regression tests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
