Piper Companies is actively seeking a Mechanical Utilities Engineer tojoin a reputable company that is looking to double both in size and production in the coming years.. The Mechanical Utilities Engineer will ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the SAP system, conduct piping inspections, and review technical drawings to maintain high operational standards. This role offers a valuable opportunity to work with a dynamic team on a large-scale project. This is a Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 position located in the greater Raleigh, NC area.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Utilities Engineer:
  • SAP Data Verification:
    • Verify the accuracy and integrity of data within the SAP system.
    • Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure data consistency with established standards.
    • Collaborate with data entry teams and system users to address and rectify any identified discrepancies.
    • Generate reports and documentation to communicate data verification results.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of data verification protocols and best practices.
  • Piping Inspection:
    • Conduct walk-downs of piping systems to verify the accuracy and integrity of pipe tags and labels.
    • Inspect the condition of pipe identification labels and markings.
    • Ensure that piping systems adhere to project specifications and relevant codes and standards.
    • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve any identified discrepancies or issues, including ordering and installing new markings.
  • Technical Drawing Review:
    • Review technical drawings, including mechanical and electrical plans, to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Mark up drawings to identify field errors, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve drawing issues.

Qualifications of the Mechanical Utilities Engineer:
  • Engineering degree and 2 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  • 5 years of experience can be substituted for the degree.
  • Strong understanding of SAP system verification and data integrity.
  • Experience with field verification of piping systems and technical drawing reviews.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Compensation of the Mechanical Utilities Engineer:
  • $80,000-$105,000 depending on years of experience
  • Full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Sick Leave if required by law
