Description

SAIC is looking for an ALQ-99 Field Service Technician in Oak Harbor, WA to support the U.S. Navy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Perform maintenance, test, evaluation, troubleshooting, calibration and repair of the AN/ALQ-99 Countermeasures System, UEU, and other Avionics systems.
  • Test electronic circuits and components to locate and replace defective components using appropriate electronic test equipment and hand tools.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restore equipment operation.
  • Perform detailed corrosion inspections on inducted components.
  • Repairs, manufactures, and upgrades various avionics cable harnesses.
  • Install electrical cables, connectors, and assemblies as well as mechanical components of various complexities.
  • Work will include but is not limited to the packing/unpacking, disassembly/reassembly of transmitters, UEU, and various avionics equipment, replacement of parts, and reclamation of parts.

Note: This position at Whidbey Island, WA is part of a bargaining unit represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union (District 751).

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of related experience; OR Associate's and two (2) years of related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance; Interim Secret required to start.
  • Must possess a practical knowledge of electrical/electronic principles, techniques, etc.
  • Must possess excellent communications and analytical skills and operating knowledge of computers.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and sketches.
  • Must be able to adapt shop practices and industry standards to fit situations in absence of guidelines.
  • Must be able to use common hand tools for removal and replacement of various electronic assemblies.
  • Must be able to professionally interface with technicians, engineers, quality assurance, and support personnel.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow written, verbal, and drawing instruction sets.
  • Must be available and willing to work second-shift as needed.

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
