Role Overview:
As an Assembly Technician, you will:
- Perform assembly operations on space flight hardware, including electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as CCAs, ECAs, and cables.
- Work from diagrams and drawings.
- Perform ink marking and apply polymeric materials such as bonding, staking, and conformal coating.
- Solder all types of components, including fine pitch, J-lead, SMT, and through-hole.
- Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
- Perform peer inspections on assemblies in accordance with quality specifications.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble flight, experimental, or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
- Work overtime, evenings, and weekends as required to meet program schedules.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years of experience
- Soldering fine pitch components and space flight components
- J-STD-001 with Space Addendum certification
- NASA 8739.1 certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- NASA 8739.1 certification
- NASA 8739.4 certification
