About the role -

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Construction business and own the successful engineering bid activity for assigned portfolio of projects across the US and North America.

You will report to our Ops Manager, and work closely with the wider team to participate in the project concept, bid, and pre-construction and take full responsibility for ensuring bid/contract compliance.

Joining a growing business, your contributions to designing and delivering an expansion strategy for the delivery team for the US is vital. We are an ambitious and collaborative team, passionate to support our partners and we will deliver some exciting and challenging charging projects 2025 and beyond.

Key responsibilities -

  • Independently oversee, manage, and deliver a bid portfolio of projects with a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, customer communication, commercial activity, program management, reporting and optimization.
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure engineering bid activity is compliant to client requirement for any assigned project and ready to be used for bid purposes.
  • Ensure that all requirements for assigned RFPs, RFIs, etc. are met.
  • Assist Sales team with technical approach to EV charging infrastructure, ensuring competitive bid approach.
  • Work with design team/supply chain to develop initial site plans, perform site evaluations and audits, etc.
  • Responsible for contract negotiation and identifying preferred contractor.
  • Working with commercial, take responsibility for construction contract agreement and signing both upstream and downstream.
  • Responsible for ensuring client approval of any detailed design.
  • Responsible for delivering internal project reporting activity during bid, including budgets, margins, cost to build, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring client needs during bid phase are met. I.E. Initial Designs, Site Evaluations, Estimates
  • Responsible for internal estimating and take-offs are completed when necessary.
  • Staying up to date with industry best practices to educate clients and internal teams on the advantages of various design and implementation options to meet business and technical requirements within the EV sector
  • Provide the business unit monthly KPIs and update to the Ops Manager
  • Mentor & coach, all line reports

About you -

  • Experience in a project management /estimating role, ideally gained within utilities, electrical facilities construction
  • Project Management/Technical related qualification
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the ecosystem approach to EV adoption on a large scale
  • Demonstrate programme management experience with a delivery business unit
  • Experience of leading people, growing capabilities with ability communicate at all levels
  • Ability to perform a key role within a governance framework
  • Commercially aware with a strong proven background in infrastructure project delivery and associated contracts
  • Proven ability in working with and providing leadership to sub-contractor frameworks
  • Ability to collaborate and lead ensuring compliance to health, safety, and environmental legislation. Able to minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes
  • Proven track record of delivering targets whilst maintaining outstanding customer relations/ services
