Field Engineer - Structural Engineer / Architect

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with senior staff to develop structural and architectural drawings, written specifications, and project documentation.
  • Engineers will conduct inspections for concrete parking garages (Periodic Inspection of Parking Structures - PIPS).
  • Architects will inspect the envelope of glass, masonry, limestone, and terracotta buildings for Local Law 11/ 98 / FISP inspections.
  • Perform site visits to assess existing structures, monitor ongoing construction, and ensure design intent is met.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and communicate with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus or Architecture and 1-4 years of relevant experience with buildings and parking garage structures.
  • For Engineers: EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • For Architects: Progress toward licensure.
  • Proficiency with engineering and architectural software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office, and RAM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple assignments.
  • Experience in construction administration and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • For Engineers: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Concentration.
  • For Architects: Master’s degree in Architecture and knowledge of construction detailing.
  • ICC Special Inspector certifications and experience performing inspections.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering and sustainable design (LEED credentials a plus).
