Project Overview

Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S/4 HANA s standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.

Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Systems (PS) Integration Lead to focus on aligning Project Systems with Financial Accounting (FI) and Materials Management (MM) modules. Responsibilities include:

Leading the integration of SAP Project Systems (PS) with FI and MM modules in an S/4 HANA environment.
Bi-weekly travel to Rosslyn, VA to lead fit-to-standard workshops, identifying gaps and optimizing processes with minimal customization. On-site requirements are Tuesday-Thursday during workshop activities.
Configuring and enhance SAP PS functionalities to manage project lifecycles, including work breakdown structures (WBS), networks, cost planning, and budgeting.
Ensuring seamless integration of project cost postings, settlements, and commitment management with Financial Accounting (FI) to maintain accurate real-time financial tracking.
Coordinating with procurement teams to align Materials Management (MM) integration for project-related requisitions, inventory management, and vendor contracts.
Supporting the development of budget availability control and funds management strategies to comply with federal budgeting guidelines.
Implementing human-centered design principles using SAP Fiori applications to enhance user experience and streamline project management workflows.
Participating in strategic planning and governance forums, providing insights on systems architecture, data migration, and change management strategies.
Developing and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and test scripts.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Project Systems (PS) with integration into FI and MM modules.
9+ years of relevant SAP experience including 6 years of experience leading business systems modernization/sustainment and related projects.
Proven experience with S/4 HANA implementations, preferably within the federal government or A&D sectors.
Strong knowledge of project cost management, budget control, and funds management in a federal environment.
Demonstrated expertise in project management, change management, and strategic planning.
Bachelor s Degree in appropriate technical field from an accredited institution. An additional (2) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Professional IT Certification - CISA (or similar) or Certification in one or more relevant SAP Modules.
Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Public Sector, or government regulated industry experience (i.e.: Aerospace & Defense) experience required. Army or Navy experience is preferred.
Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required. (Clearance sponsorship for candidates with relevant experience may be available on a case by case basis.)
