Position Purpose:

The Finance & Operations Manager leads daily business operations, investor relations and fundraising while managing the overall financial management of the SCEDC and it’s charitable foundation. This role is a key member of the management of the organization, this position supports building financial confidence in current and future programs and operations of the corporate structure. Starting salary is commensurate with experience.

The position is ideal for an independent thinker, a multi-task oriented self-starter, and an active communicator that enjoys being responsible for planning and executing management of daily operations including financial management, investor relations and implementation of corporate strategies.

FINANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Processing all payments including vendors invoices, individual reimbursements, and other accounts payable and receivables, managing daily accounting records including journal entries and preparing payroll documents as required;

- Prepare budgets, financial reports, financial projections, and research financial alternatives and reasons for discrepancies within the corporate financial models and budgets.

- Manage the organization’s cash flow and banking arrangements, including business loans.

- Responsible for providing financial reports and analysis to help executive leadership and the organization’s committees develop strategies and make decisions.

- Identify, pursue and submit grant and funding proposals and submit required monitoring reports from successful applications.

- Establishes and manages accounting record keeping systems, and procedures for tracking and reporting, including recommending remedial measures and working with auditors when needed.

OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

- Contributes to ALL aspects of the organization as needed to accomplish annual goals, support investor relations and to ensure effective and efficient corporate operations.

- Develop agendas, supplemental materials and take minutes for organizational meetings.

- Implement efforts for efficient office operations such as ordering inventory, maintaining equipment and accuracy of office records and filing structure.

- Schedule and coordinate meetings of the SCEDC Board, Committees, Cohorts and Revolving Loan Fund and Industrial Development Agency.

- Identify, manage and update materials describing available sites and vacant properties for economic development projects.

- Receive and screen all office incoming phone calls.

INVESTOR RELATIONS AND EVENTS RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the coordination of the Annual Meeting and special events of the organization. Serve as investor liaison to ensure delivery of expected investor and sponsor benefits.

- Review and update organizations contact information for effective invoicing and investor relationship management.

- Coordinate investor and sponsor recruitment campaigns in concert with Executive Director/Committees.

- Coordinate and manage Developer Summit(s) event planning as primary SCEDC contact.

- Manage external relationships and promotional materials.

- Foster and maintain good relationships with local companies and organizations to better assist in collaborative efforts with economic development partners.

- Serve on external committees as requested by the Executive Director

- Serve as back-up staff for management and updates to all SCEDC web sites.

  • - Assist in all other team-oriented programs and provide technical assistance to encourage business growth, startups, investment, skill development, talent attraction and special projects as necessary.
