TAYS is seeking a Systems Programmer to join our dynamic team in the Baltimore MD Area. The Systems Programmer is responsible for developing, reviewing, updating and maintaining new and existing programs, scripts, utilities, and automated reports.
This is a Full-Time position with a remote schedule. However the Mainframe Systems Programmer must reside within 2 hours of Woodlawn, MD or Durham, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Review and maintain Control-M Schedules while providing recommendations to improve process and automation
- Maintain and administer all existing applications and tools that are utilized
- Review current applications and tools to determine potential enhancements from user feedback
- Create test plans, application documentation and project planning with management prior to implementation
- Implement and support pre-approved functional enhancements to existing applications
- Review current manual, coded, and scripted process keeping in mind user requested enhancements
- Provide written feedback on how current processes and how they can be improved including user requested enhancements
- Create new scripted processes to replace current processes while maintaining current deliverables and functionality
- Create Software Design, Test Plan, Process Flow, Application Documentation, Database Architecture, and User Guide documents for applications and tools supporting DBOPC objectives
- Generate applicable installation requirements and process, noting required accesses to specific servers
- Identify tools that can be used to automate manual processes
- Design, develop, and implement the identified tools
- Attend meetings as necessary and provide feedback of current status
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of the following languages: SHELL, SQL, HTML, CSS, Java, Python, JavaScript (JS), C# or Visual Basic (VB), ASP.NET
- Experience with Control-M, Jira, and MS Office/Tools
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Public Trust Clearance
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
