The following opportunity is open to Contract to Hire or Full Time Employee for this position. My client is looking for a System Manager who has a well-rounded background in infrastructure management with experience in Network, Server, Storage and some Security background. Experience with MS Azure, O365 and exchange is required. The person would need to be on site in the Carteret NJ office three days a week and could work remotely two days per week.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced System Manager to oversee and maintain our IT systems, staff, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of our systems, implement best practices, and support our organizational goals through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the organization's IT systems and servers.
Manage IT staff
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
Manage ongoing cybersecurity compliance activities, including the scheduling and execution of controlled assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational security standards.
Oversee system installations, configurations, upgrades, and decommissioning of systems.
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures for system management.
Ensure data integrity and security through effective backup and recovery procedures.
Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions.
Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Stay current with technology trends and best practices in system management.
Plan and execute IT projects.
Report on IT metrics and risks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in system administration and management.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and server management.
Experience with Microsoft s Azure, O365, Exchange, and SQL.
Familiarity with network protocols, infrastructure, and security practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
Overall technology experience of 7 -10
Management experience of at least 3 -5 years
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
