Position Summary & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Director of Business Development for NextPhase is responsible for driving new revenue by establishing and maintaining meaningful, beneficial relationships with select company customers and potential customers to identify and implement near-term strategies for new customer and category opportunities throughout the United States and Canada. This role is a driving force behind Arterex’s new business development and growth throughout North America. Key responsibilities are:

· Develop and implement strategies for existing and new customers and categories with a thorough understanding of Arterex’s capabilities, market trends, market opportunities, and market competitors. Communicate new business opportunities throughout the organization and implement them seamlessly, expeditiously, and flawlessly while delivering strong results.

· Drive business development activities through consultative and solution selling.

· Translate Arterex’s capabilities to develop additional sectors of business within the United States and Canada with a proactive understanding of the business case. Work closely with Customers, Value Stream teams, Product Development and Engineering teams, Project Management teams, and Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute on New Customer Opportunity and Category Plans.

· Set, deliver, and exceed sales, project budgets, and targets within Customer and Category Plans. Manage opportunities with an eye on near-term NRE and product expansions while positioning Arterex as a leader in low to mid-volume complex medical device solutions.

· In conjunction with key stakeholders, it supports communication with customers to ensure successful product launches and implementation for newly identified opportunities and deliver uncompromised results with a focus on world-class execution and business expansion while surpassing targeted volumes and timelines.

· Contribute to customer acceptance of Arterex as the preferred medical device outsource supplier by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with medical device industry groups and customers while building confidence in Arterex’s capabilities.

· Communicate to leadership on a regular basis, forecasting activity, competitive information, opportunity status, and other information as requested.

· Act as a key member of the Arterex leadership team with involvement in the business plan and an active stake in the company's future. Work closely and collaboratively with business unit GMs, plant managers, manufacturing and supply chain, new product development and engineering, program management, and business unit management as a leadership team member. Develop close relationships with Chief Commercial Officer, General Managers, Value Stream Business Unit Managers, and leaders of EMS and SUD Engineering and New Product Development to maximize business development opportunities.

· Manage staff, peers, and superiors in a collaborative manner while always staying focused on delivering and developing value-added business and delivering key strategic results. Hold yourself and others highly accountable for results.

Ideal Candidate Requirements/Attributes

The selected candidate for Director of Business Development for Arterex is expected to have significant successful experience in strategic business within product design and development and contract manufacturing for complex electromechanical and single-use Class II and III medical devices. This individual must have a deep knowledge of business development geared toward selling to medical devices OEMs, and the successful candidate will possess:

· B.S. or B.A. from an accredited institution in engineering, business, or Business. An advanced degree is a plus.

· 10+ years of experience selling contract design and manufacturing services to medical device OEM’s

· Strong background in business development and a verifiable track record of strategic product expansion with medical device contract manufacturing companies. Will be able to ‘hit the ground running’ and quickly impact the business.

· Established network of senior-level contacts within large medical device OEMs, selling services ranging from injection molding, design services, electromechanical, and single-use device assembly.

· Ability to provide positive leadership by role modeling Arterex values, providing a favorable organization climate and working environment that inspires and supports the work efforts of the different teams and recognizes and sustains high performance.

· Exemplary relationship-building skills to win new customers and increase business with existing customers through new business development.

· Ability to develop strong working alliances across all customer teams and internal teams, especially Commercial, New Product Development, Operations, and Marketing teams.

· Proven ability to grow business profitability

· Demonstrated top-line business accountability and the ability to work in a self-directed manner and to direct others in a collaborative, results-oriented manner.
