As a Quality Control Inspector at JM Fabrication, your primary focus will be ensuring that our products consistently meet exacting quality and compliance standards throughout the manufacturing cycle. You will be heavily involved in creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) per AS9102 requirements, performing in-process and final inspections, and utilizing a range of precision measurement tools-including CMM, height gauges, and other calibrated instruments-to verify dimensional accuracy. Your work will ensure that both raw materials and finished components align with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.

- Develop comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) documentation per AS9102 standards to certify initial production runs and revision changes.
- Conduct thorough in-process and final inspections using CMMs, height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other calibrated quality tools to ensure product conformity.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to quality requirements.
- Assess incoming raw materials and in-process components against internal and customer-defined quality metrics, maintaining detailed records of compliance.
- Continuously improve inspection methodologies and recommend enhancements to overall quality processes, ensuring all practices align with AS9100 and internal QMS standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all inspections and measurements, ensuring traceability and compliance with customer, regulatory, and military specifications.
- Ensure inspection tools and equipment are calibrated and functioning correctly. Report any malfunction and ensure a safe, organized workspace.
- Partner with engineering, production, and supplier quality teams to identify root causes of non-conformities and help drive corrective actions.
- Follow strict adherence to ITAR regulations and meet U.S. person requirements.
- Maintain compliance with AS9100, internal QMS protocols, and all customer-specific and military product standards.
- Assist other departments as needed to meet production deadlines, support timely workflow, and complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Strong experience in creating FAIR documents per AS9102.
- Proven hands-on experience in using CMM, height gauges, and other calibrated quality inspection tools.
- Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering specifications.
- Solid background in in-process and final inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee).
- 1-3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks effectively.
- Adaptability in improving and streamlining inspection processes.
