The Quality and EHS Manager will oversee all aspects of quality management, environmental compliance, health and safety standards, and laboratory operations within the talc and barite production facility. This role is critical in maintaining the facility's adherence to ISO 9000 standards, IDEM environmental regulations, MSHA safety protocols, and all internal and external quality and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will lead a team of two laboratory personnel, ensuring operational efficiency and a safe, compliant, and high-quality working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management (ISO 9000 System):

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the ISO 9000 Quality Management System (QMS) within the facility.

• Ensure that all processes and operations are aligned with ISO 9000 standards, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.

• Develop, review, and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9000 and industry best practices.

• Monitor and report on quality metrics, ensuring consistent production of talc and barite that meet both internal and external quality requirements.

• Facilitate internal and external audits, coordinate corrective actions, and support any non-conformance investigations.

• Follow industry trends and standards

Environmental Compliance (IDEM):

• Manage compliance with IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) regulations, ensuring all environmental permits are up to date and adhered to.

• Oversee the environmental monitoring and reporting process, ensuring compliance with air, water, waste, and other environmental standards.

• Implement initiatives to reduce the facility’s environmental impact, driving sustainability and efficiency in production processes.

• Collaborate with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay updated on changes to environmental laws and regulations, ensuring the facility remains compliant.

• Follow industry trends and standards

Health and Safety (MSHA Controlled Worksite):

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role within an industrial setting (preferably in the mining, minerals processing, or similar field).
