Strategic Technology Partner & CTO
Position Overview
This senior leadership position combines strategic client partnership with technical oversight, focusing on AWS cloud solutions and other partner solutions. The role requires a dynamic leader who can build close relationships with clients while driving technical excellence and innovation across the organization. This role will set direction for the organization on technical initiatives and ways to serve clients with the latest and greatest solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of rapidly growing clients, driving full-cycle project engagement from pursuit to delivery
- Guide delivery team to architect and oversee migration, modernization programs, and AI/ML solution deployment
- Set strategic direction for both business and technical initiatives, identifying growth opportunities and mapping technical roadmaps
- Drive business development with proper tools and subject matter expertise to sell engagements
- Maintain utilization target of 40% while ensuring division-wide profitability
Technical Excellence & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery process, optimizing Statements of Work (SOWs) for scope, timeline, and profitability
- Drive adoption of AWS-native tools, modern architectures and partner solutions
- Spearhead AI/ML initiatives, including GenAI integration, predictive analytics, and automation workflows
- Oversee technical project delivery quality assurance and implement metrics-driven governance
- Manage delivery teams ranging from 2-10 directors with direct reports
Business Development & Financial Management
- Support company target revenue growth while maintaining minimum 40% gross margin across engagements
- Monitor P&L for the technology division
- Build, maintain and grow the organization's footprint within targeted accounts
- Collaborate with sales/pre-sales to scope high-margin engagements and refine pricing models
Industry Leadership
- Represent the company at micro and industry events, webinars, and panels (examples: CxO roundtables, re:invent, roadshows, podcasts, interviews, etc…)
- Build and maintain relationship with key AWS personas (examples: DM, SA, CSM leadership and more)
- Publish thought leadership content on AWS, AI, or cloud-native trends and other relevant topics
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and business levers
- Lead and mentor directors and cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional)
Experience
- 10+ years of technology leadership and account/delivery management experience
- Minimum 5+ years in client-facing roles within AWS ecosystems
- Proven consulting experience within professional services environment
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of cloud migrations, containerization (ECS/EKS), and IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Experience deploying AI/ML models (SageMaker, Bedrock) and modernizing legacy systems
- Proficiency in DevOps practices and FinOps principles
Leadership Skills
- Track record of managing $10M+ portfolios with strict margin accountability
- Excellent negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving abilities
- Proven success building and leading high-performance engineering teams
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts for C-suite stakeholders
Preferred Attributes
- Published thought leadership on cloud technology trends
- Speaking experience at major tech conferences (AWS re:Invent, etc.)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA) in regulated industries
- Previous P&L and revenue generating responsibilities
