Surfside is an end-to-end marketing technology that aggregates first-party data across all customer touchpoints, allowing advertisers the ability to better understand, target, and measure how to influence current and future customers. We simplify and personalize audience creation through integrated data onboarding, offsite and onsite media buying, and sales attribution. We work with many clients and advertisers across different verticals and have a core focus in the Retail Media industry as we bring unique technology to a complex and massive vertical. We are looking for innovative, action-oriented professionals with the desire and initiative to make a major impact for the leading technology platform in the Retail Media space as we continue to expand to additional verticals who would benefit from an end-to-end commerce media solution.
The Opportunity:
The Media Strategist is ideally based in New York, out of our Soho office. The candidate should have extensive experience with digital and traditional media strategy, leading and building media plans, and facilitating buying strategies. An ideal candidate would have experience in retail media and other performance verticals. The candidate is responsible for building, leading, and inspiring internal teams while driving client thinking to provide best-in-class work. The right candidate will establish a trusted partnership with senior clients by demonstrating deep knowledge of their business and ensuring clear, flawless communication across both organizations. Must be a strategic, disciplined, and innovative thinker with deep working knowledge of omni-channel media and comfort with performance marketing analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building full funnel media plans that drive and support a variety of advertiser KPIs
- Understanding of omni-channel media buying and experience in planning across different media channels and inventory types
- Ability to tie market intelligence and purchase trends back to media performance for holistic media planning and optimizations.
- Senior contact for client and internal teams to lead day to day management of planning and media mix model for advertising accounts pre-launch and during campaigns.
- Lead client discussions around business outcomes, including facilitating and driving investment & activation plans as well as ensuring measurement frameworks are delivered.
- Become a product expert across the Surfside platform and solutions.
- Maintain awareness of new media-relevant industry/market trends; develop points of view regarding those trends; and communicate appropriate action steps.
- Continue to evolve sales proposals through data driven media strategies and performance base outcomes.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Strong analytical ability with media planning skills, including audience strategy and budget sufficiency.
- A rich understanding of measurement and attribution.
- Track record of successfully negotiating with clients and vendors to reach an agreement/ solution that best meets Surfside's and client needs.
- High energy, passionate, curious, confident, and tenacious in learning, coupled with the ability to navigate the nuances of different client teams.
- Must communicate quickly and accurately, think quickly or improvise, and present confidently.
- Should be a nimble self-starter and quickly adjust to internal and external teams in an ever-changing environment; identify opportunity with bias to action.
- 5 + years of experience in media planning, analytics and other advertising/marketing disciplines.
- 2+ years in Retail Media and Programmatic Digital Media
- Have a track record of data-driven marketing decision making
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent knowledge & experience a plus.
