Job Title: Business Continuity Specialist
Location: Manhattan, NY (2 days per week in-office requirement)
Duration: 3-month contract (potential to extend and convert to full-time)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Business Continuity Specialist with hands-on experience in business continuity planning and crisis management. The ideal candidate will be involved in updating plans, executing table-top exercises, and supporting crisis management efforts. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand risks and develop mitigation strategies, while maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with organizational goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of plans and develop your expertise in business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update and Maintain Business Continuity Plans: Revise and refresh existing plans annually.
- Table-top Exercises: Lead scenario-based testing of business continuity plans.
- Crisis Management: Actively engage in crisis response, taking notes, documenting lessons learned, and ensuring adherence to established playbooks.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Draft and update SOPs as part of crisis management and continuity planning.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders to conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and ensure proper planning for risk mitigation.
- Risk Management: Analyze and assess risks to business operations, developing and recommending strategies for risk reduction.
- Ownership of Plans: Once trained, take full ownership of specific business continuity plans, managing them on an annual basis.
Must Haves / Plusses:
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in business continuity planning, crisis management, and working with stakeholders.
- Certifications: DRII Certification (Disaster Recovery International Institute) is a plus. CDCP (Certified Disaster Recovery Professional) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proven experience in conducting BIA and developing BIA plans.
- Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques.
- Hands-on experience in table-top exercises and scenario-based testing.
- Ability to work within defined playbooks for crisis management and incident response.
- Proficiency in writing and updating SOPs.
- Flexibility: Must be able to work in-office at least 2 days per week, with the potential for remote work otherwise.
- Crisis Management: Prior experience in managing crisis response or assisting with crisis situations.
Compensation:
Compensation ranges from $55/hr-$60/hr. It will depend on years of experience and skill level.
