Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an Account Executive at Meritage Events. The Account Executive will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction with event experiences.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities:

· Will operate under the supervision and report directly to the Vice President

· Knowledge of how to generate & increase both local & national contacts and leads

· Superior creative, logistical, attention to detail and organizational skills

· Clear knowledge & understanding of budgets, project P/L past accountability for revenue and profit

· Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the team

· Excellent customer service skills, foster & maintain positive working relationships with partners, vendors, staff and clients

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, such as but not limited to MPI, PCMA, IMEX and/or HSMAI

· Giving direction to production teams on program development according to specifications of client

· Develops and maintain business relationships with our suppliers and partners

· Develops creative concepts ideas for client programs that are in line with vision and promote client retention

· Model high standards of integrity that support the vision, mission and values of the organization

· Must stay updated and current on industry trends, vendor offerings, etc.

· Onsite work will be required at certain times, training with operations will be provided

Sales Duties:

· Maximize revenue by generating new business leads (in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Nationally) and reaching out to current book, connect with prospects, bid on projects and close sales

· Acting as a creative and project management expert

· Response to RFP inquiries

· City, hotel & venue tours with potential clients

· Build a quick working knowledge of venues/hotel and supplier/partners in the area of the bidding project

· Services existing accounts and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales opportunities

· Focuses sales efforts by studying sales data provided

· Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as weekly call reports, and monthly and annual analyses

· Responsible for logging individual billable & non-billable hours in Harvest (time tracking software)

Communication Role:

· Establish and maintain lines of communication throughout the company (Email, Phone, Text & Slack)

· Exceptional communication skills; verbal and written, telephone and email etiquette, able to direct a client effectively through the selling process

· Able to listen, interpret, analyze and provide options to meet business and client objectives

· Provides a communication link between event teams, vendors and sales teams options and logistical solutions to clients

· Timely responses to client, vendor and supplier inquiries

· Respond to client inquiries and walk them through the event planning process

· Conflict resolution skills, ability to remain calm under pressure of deadlines, upset staff or clients

· Ability to receive candid feedback from management and clients while possessing a high degree of accountability

Technology Requirements:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom & Teams

· Proposal generation using Canva software is preferred

· Able to quickly learn internal management platforms of Monday.com, Slack, Harvest, Cvent and Social Tables
