ServiceNow Developer
Assyst is seeking a ServiceNow Developer for our client in Laurel, MD. This is a hybrid position requiring three (3) days on-site and up to two (2) days of remote work each week.
Interviews will be performed in person.
Scope of Work The ServiceNow Developer will design, develop, and implement new ServiceNow applications and modules while configuring and customizing existing ones. Responsibilities include building custom workflows, forms, and user interfaces and integrating ServiceNow with other systems using APIs. The Developer will also automate workflows to streamline processes, ensure quality through thorough testing, and provide ongoing technical support to end-users. The role involves creating and maintaining technical documentation and collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ServiceNow solutions.
- Design and develop custom applications and modules on the ServiceNow platform.
- Configure and customize existing ServiceNow applications, including Service Catalog, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
- Develop and maintain workflows, forms, and user interfaces to improve user experience and efficiency.
- Integrate ServiceNow with other business systems using APIs and web services.
- Create and maintain scripts to automate tasks and processes within ServiceNow.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights into ServiceNow data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow issues and incidents reported by users.
- Provide technical support and guidance to ServiceNow users.
- Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and IT team members to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest ServiceNow features, releases, and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability of ServiceNow applications.
- Monitor the performance and health of ServiceNow instances.
- Implement security measures to protect ServiceNow data and applications.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications / Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related scientific or technical field, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a strong understanding of the platform's architecture and capabilities.
- Preferred experience in the water and wastewater industry and familiarity with Oracle utility applications.
- Demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects in diverse team environments, focusing on ServiceNow development tools and techniques, including scripting in JavaScript, Jelly, and AngularJS.
- Strong understanding of the ITIL framework and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, and CSM.
- Proficient in integrating ServiceNow with other systems using APIs, web services, and middleware technologies.
- Proven ability to design and implement automated workflows to streamline processes.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms (e.g., Azure).
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow development tools and techniques.
