Mission: As VP of Accounting and Finance, you will be based in Seattle, WA, and lead the Finance and Accounting operations of our company and its operating units. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a dynamic and fast-paced accounting and finance infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a process builder, and a leader who nurtures talent. This individual will be highly proficient in budgeting, financial reporting, accounting processes, and investment-related finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Direct and oversee all accounting and finance functions, including property, construction, and corporate accounting, as well as accounts payable, accounts receivable, controls, and treasury.
· Ensure 100% accuracy in financial reporting and create corporate and investor-level financial reports.
· Manage financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting, working closely with the FP&A team.
· Optimize the Monthly Recurring Revenue to Operating Expense Ratio with a target increase of 400%.
· Develop and manage cash flow strategies to support company growth and long-term financial stability, collaborating with asset management on cash management policies.
· Oversee tax compliance, audits, and financial reporting across 70+ operating entities spanning various industries.
· Work with external CPA teams to optimize tax outcomes, manage special depreciation and allocation schedules, and assist in investor K-1 preparation.
· Ensure data integrity across all financial and accounting systems, including NetSuite, Concur, InvestNext, Investor Management System (IMS), QuickBooks Online, Power BI, and StorEdge.
· Work closely with Capital and Acquisitions teams to enhance investor-level reporting and provide financial analysis for potential property acquisitions, dispositions, and investment opportunities.
· Lead and mentor a team of offshore accountants and financial staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
· Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
· Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships with NetSuite, Concur, JPMorgan, and other key service providers.
· Maintain and update accounting systems by managing subsidiaries, departments, chart of accounts, and integrating new bank accounts as needed.
· Work closely with the Investor Relations team to manage any distribution/interest discrepancies or investor inquiries.
· Assist in process improvement across departments to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
· CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
· 10+ years of experience in real estate-related finance and accounting.
· Strong familiarity with NetSuite and financial systems integration.
