Developer that will build the ITSM project. In a nutshell, the ServiceNow module is the oldest module we have, we need to rip it back down to studs starting with process and governance and rebuilt it backup from scratch. Will start with industry best practices and build a process- what
should our service management process be? The Developer will help the BA understand the technology constraints and solutions, then actually build it. Will stick to ITIL best practices- ideal candidate has done this project before, but this person will have the ability to adapt, work with Business Owners. 30% people facing being a technical advocate, 70% coding. Will touch every module in ITSM.

Forward thinking- will eventually get into building AI workflows down the road. ITSM Devs are really easy to find- but need one who has done this building from scratch work before, process minded, collaborative and forward thinking/ solution minded. Also be really good at ITSM best practices- be able to mentor Jr ITSM Devs how things should actually work and flow within ITSM.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior ServiceNow Developer with a strong technical background to lead our ITSM modernization project. This role requires deep expertise in ServiceNow development, system architecture, and process re-engineering. The ideal candidate will reverse engineer existing ITSM functionalities and rebuild them to deliver a modern, streamlined experience with updated process flows and governance controls. You will also mentor junior team members and manage the promotion of code across multiple environments, ensuring robust delivery practices and alignment with strategic business goals.

Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
o 7+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and ITSM modules, with a strong background in scripting (JavaScript, GlideScript) and web technologies.
o Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex ServiceNow implementations, including design, build, and deployment phases.
o Hands-on experience with reverse engineering legacy systems and rebuilding them with modern practices and frameworks.
Leadership & Project Management:
o Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale IT projects and managing multi-environment code promotions.
o Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
o Experience mentoring and leading junior developers, fostering an environment of technical excellence and collaboration.
Process & Governance:
o In-depth knowledge of ITSM best practices and process re-engineering methodologies.
o Experience establishing and enforcing governance frameworks to ensure system integrity, security, and compliance.
o Ability to design and implement new process flows that align with business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
Communication & Collaboration:
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o Proven experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead meetings, manage expectations, and drive consensus.

Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and/or Certified Application Developer credentials.
Experience with integration of ServiceNow Service Management with other enterprise systems: ITOM/CMDB, and SPM/Demand/Agile 2.0.
Familiarity with modern development practices such as DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in the context of ServiceNow.
