Job Description
Our Insurance team is looking for a customer oriented Program/Project Managers with a track record of delivery expertise on enterprise programs to work directly with customers during the implementation of InsuranceNow.
Required Experience:
- Large enterprise program delivery (Digital, Cloud-based programs)
- Experience in core systems program/ projects covering policy admin, claims, cloud-based or home-grown systems.
- P&C Insurance industry expereince is a must
- Proven track record of delivery success
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to create, maintain and own Project Roadmap for a signed customer Implementation, and any follow-on Support efforts.
Ability to build and maintain a Project budget forecast for duration of customer Implementation, and any follow-on Support efforts.
Plans out project resourcing needs throughout project lifecycle, and partners with Practice Leads and Functional Managers to ensure project requests are understood, and appropriate staffing is in place to support the execution of project deliverables. Manages dependencies and timing between work requests.
Ability to draft statements of work and negotiate with customers.
Manages Project Kick-Off Activities.
Provide leadership, management and oversight of a single or multiple Implementation and Support projects.
Demonstrated flexibility to deliver projects using different SDLC methods.
Provide the project team direction and prioritization of activities per defined and agreed.
Builds and fosters strong and trusted relationship with customer. Owns and manages customer relationship during implementation. Determines appropriate amount of Project Management on-site time required to maintain relationship.
Manages customer expectations at both Project Team and Executive Level through Project Lifecycle
Holds Guidewire team and Customer team accountable to agreed-to deliverables and associated milestones, sets expectations around impacts of delays and manages stakeholder expectations throughout. Escalates delays and project impacts appropriately, and creates appropriate project artifacts.
Captures, manages, and plans mitigation/resolution of project issues and risks.
Manages internal and external team/stakeholder expectations through daily, weekly and monthly communications with resources/stakeholders at all levels (team through C level).
Tracks project budget, risks and issues, and reports on a weekly basis, presenting to Customer Sponsor/Steering Committee at least once monthly. Provides suggestions on how to successfully manage delivery to Customer Leadership.
Understands customer Production needs, and determines Staffing Model, Release Plan and Roadmap to meet these needs. Directs team as to this plan.
Balances customer Production Support needs with Implementation activities to ensure overall delivery is meeting customer needs.
Determines Implementation Support budget approach with customer sponsors, and enforces.
Travel up to 25%.
Required Experience
Technical Experience Requirements:
10+ years of experience in P&C insurance industry, specifically in core systems implementations
Demonstrated experience with Guidewire InsuranceNow platform implementation
Strong background in insurance core systems (Policy Admin, Claims, Billing)
Experience with cloud-based insurance solutions and digital transformation initiatives
Working knowledge of multiple SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)
Project Management Experience:
PMP certification or equivalent
Experience managing enterprise-level programs with budgets exceeding $5M
Track record of successful end-to-end implementation of insurance core systems
Experience in managing multi-vendor, distributed teams
Proven experience in resource planning and allocation across complex programs
Strong background in project budgeting and financial forecasting
Insurance Domain Knowledge:
Deep understanding of P&C insurance business processes and workflows
Experience with insurance regulatory requirements and compliance
Knowledge of insurance industry standards and best practices
Understanding of insurance product configuration and implementation
Experience with insurance testing methodologies and UAT processes
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
Experience in executive-level stakeholder management
Track record of managing client relationships at C-suite level
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
Experience in managing offshore/onshore delivery models
Strong background in risk management and mitigation
Specific Implementation Experience:
Experience with Guidewire product suite configuration
Knowledge of insurance integration patterns and middleware
Experience with data conversion and migration strategies
Background in production support and maintenance planning
Understanding of insurance testing frameworks and methodologies
Client Management Skills:
Strong background in change management
Experience in managing customer expectations and deliverables
Track record of successful project governance
Experience in managing steering committee relationships
