Seaport Capital, founded in 1997 and based in New York City, invests buyout and growth capital in lower middle-market companies operating in the communications, business and information services and media sectors. Seaport is currently investing out of its sixth fund and is growing its investment team. Seaport typically seeks to invest between $15 and $30 million of equity in private companies with market capitalizations between $30 and $150 million. We are long-term investors focused on generating high investment multiples for our investment partners and we work with talented management teams to create valuable companies that are leaders in their market segments.
Job Description
The Investment Associate position at Seaport Capital offers the opportunity to gain experience in the private equity industry. Responsibilities include:
· Financial analysis and modeling
· New deal diligence and research, including preparation of screening and investment committee memos, term sheets, and lender presentations
· Assisting in all aspects of the transaction process, including identifying investment opportunities and risks, transaction execution and financing
· Portfolio company support and investor reporting, including interacting with portfolio company management teams
The Investment Associate will work closely with the senior professionals of the firm on current and new investment opportunities. The position requires a motivated, inquisitive and flexible individual who is comfortable working on multiple assignments at any one time.
The position is for pre-MBA candidates with the expectation that the candidate will spend two to three years at Seaport Capital. The position is located in New York City, and requires in office attendance at least four days a week.

Required Skills and Expertise
· Two to three years of investment banking, buy-side, or corporate finance experience
· Independent, intellectually curious, self-starter, energetic, emotionally intelligent and detailed oriented
· Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of the balance sheet, cash flow and income statements
· Confidence and desire to interact with senior executives at portfolio investments, new investments and investment banker professionals
· Ability to work on multiple projects
