We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst with a strong focus on Business Systems Analysis (BSA) to join our client in Boston, MA.
This role is crucial for supporting the development and integration of complex business systems with a deep focus on system monitoring, API management, database tools, and content management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various database tools, API mapping, and systems monitoring, with the ability to create documentation and ensure smooth integration and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Systems Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and ensure seamless system implementations.
Database Tools Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge of database management tools, including SQL and Oracle, to manage, query, and analyze system data.
System Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of business systems. Proactively identify issues and resolve system incidents or failures.
API Mapping and Web Services: Support the integration of various web services, mapping APIs for efficient communication between systems. Ensure data exchange is seamless and systems operate as expected.
Content Management: Work with TDL (Technical Documentation Language) and SDL (Software Development Lifecycle) tools for effective content management, ensuring proper versioning, updates, and system configuration control.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and changes to facilitate ongoing support and future system upgrades.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including development teams, infrastructure, and security, to support business system initiatives and provide technical guidance.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide second-tier support for business system issues, investigate system performance issues, and provide solutions or escalation as needed.
Project Management: Occasionally support or lead small projects, ensuring the timely delivery of system improvements, upgrades, and integrations.
Required Skills and Experience:
Database Tools: Extensive experience with SQL and Oracle, including writing queries, database management, and performance tuning.
API Integration and Web Services: Experience in mapping and integrating APIs for web services, with a solid understanding of RESTful services and SOAP APIs.
Monitoring and Alerting: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, New Relic, or similar), as well as configuring and managing alerts to ensure system uptime and performance.
Content Management: Familiarity with TDL and SDL content management tools and best practices in the lifecycle management of documentation.
Strong Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation that serves technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causes of technical issues.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and business teams effectively.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with additional programming languages or tools (e.g., Python, Java, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud services or distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or related role with a focus on system integration and analysis.

Location: Boston,MA – On-site presence required.
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Rate based on experience.
