Job Description:

Our Financial Services client is seeking an experienced Systems Programmer to join a two-person team responsible for managing in-house applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the CA Plex model-driven development platform and be proficient in developing and maintaining applications using RPG III and RPG IV on IBM i (AS/400) systems.

The applications primarily support financial functions, including record-keeping, asset management, broker licensing, regulatory reporting, market data and analytics, fees processing, order management, and client account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize applications using CA Plex and RPG III/IV on IBM i (AS/400).
  • Convert and optimize SQL queries for DB2, ensuring performance and integration with CA Plex applications.
  • Assist in SQL-to-DB2 migration efforts, including updating embedded SQL in RPG programs.
  • Collaborate on application modernization and integration projects.
  • Apply DevOps principles where necessary for efficient system operations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support financial application requirements.

Required Skills:

  • CA Plex development experience
  • RPG III and RPG IV programming
  • IBM i (AS/400) system expertise
  • DB2 database proficiency
  • SQL query optimization and integration
  • DevOps background for system automation and efficiency

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in legacy application modernization
  • Knowledge of system integration with existing financial applications
