What You'll Do

This position works alongside the engineering team and individually to assist in projects for new neurovascular product development as well as improvements of existing products within R&D.

  • Participate in the design, and development and prototyping of new concepts and test procedures (methods and fixtures)
  • Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate feasibility of concepts
  • Review test data against established acceptance criteria and write appropriate test reports
  • Interact with engineers to understand product requirements
  • Document relevant information (i.e., new ideas, test results, build procedure, etc.) in lab notebook according to good laboratory practices or company procedure
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and suggest new ideas and improvements pertaining to designs, materials, and processes

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an engineering discipline & a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Familiar with R&D equipment used for prototyping common medical devices (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining)
  • Able to use SolidWorks for drawing and designing tooling, fixtures, devices and related items
  • Knowledge of materials (Polymers, Metals, Chemicals) as related to medical devices
  • Familiarity with machining and rapid prototyping tools, and tensile, simulated use, and other test methods related to the project
  • Strong organizational skills: management of multiple priorities and timing
  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, and partnership with R&D and other departments

Salary: $28/hourly for a 10 week internship
