Job Description
The successful candidate will administer the University’s employee benefit programs in compliance with carrier contracts (e.g. workers’ compensation, enrolling new employees, explaining benefit options, organizing benefit fairs, mediating benefit eligibility and payment issues, open enrollment, etc.); maintain a wide variety of benefit information (e.g. provider contracts, claim files, employee records) for the purpose of providing up to date reference and audit trail for compliance; processes a variety of information (e.g. COBRA , FML and retirement); process documentation for requests from outside agencies (e.g. worker’s compensation claims, retired and transitional employees; court ordered adjustments, job verifications, tax levies); reconcile enrollment forms and billings to employee records (e.g. COBRA , disability, retirement Health, FMLA etc); setup “New” benefit deduction codes in Banner and assign labor distribution data as needed; enter fund, organization, and account changes in Banner; terminate all benefit deductions in Banner and notify insurance companies of terminations; process and submit “PERS Form 18 to the retirement system; process Optional Retirement Plan documents.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; extensive working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding benefits management; ( ADA , FMLA , Workers Compensation); ability to communicate effectively to a diverse population, attentiveness to details; ability to work under time constraints; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to analyze and reconcile billing statements; ability to work independently and interpret various guidelines and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ellucian Banner is a plus
