POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Talent Development and Compliance will lead the creation, coordination, and delivery of leadership development training programs, corporate training, and be accountable for training compliance and company adherence to all laws and regulations in the markets the brand operates. This role will develop training strategies, create & manage content, and monitor compliance, working closely with functional leadership, restaurant operations, and the risk management teams. The ideal candidate will ensure that training is engaging, relevant, and refreshed for team members. The position will lead talent assessment cycles and lead succession planning with functional leaders, talent acquisition, and HR Business Partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Process

  • Works collaboratively with the organization leadership team and HR team to develop a robust leadership pipeline for the organization (site or function).
  • Leads the implementation of all talent, leadership and team planning processes, policies, and procedures which includes succession planning, leadership selection and assessment, leadership development planning and the site’s annual organizational development readiness plan.
  • Actively engages, coaches, and educates leaders and HR partners in the team effectiveness process including assessments, design and developing leadership off-sites, team make-up and observations/feedback on team effectiveness competencies.
  • Builds, coaches, and facilitates teams through the effective use of tools, team building activities, development activities and supporting the leaders in creating an engaged environmen.
  • Acts as the organization’s learning organization conscience by advocating practices that improve team effectiveness, systems thinking, personal mastery, employee engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Leads performance periodic review processes in collaboration with Manager, Comp & HRIS and providing feedback to employees and managers to drive performance improvement.
  • Implements organizational changes effectively by communicating the vision, managing resistance, and providing support to employees.
  • Designs and executes programs to foster employee engagement and satisfaction.

Training Program Development & Content Creation

  • Research, design, and develop internally or with external partners leadership training that is tailored to the fast-casual restaurant industry.
  • Create training materials that leverage adult learning principles and accommodate various learning styles.
  • Utilize diverse delivery methods (e-learning, in-person, hybrid) to maximize engagement and retention.
  • Enforce training completion deadlines, following up with managers and escalating issues of non-compliance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate training records, tracking completion rates, certification statuses, and assessment results.
  • Generate training reports for leadership and regulatory bodies, providing insights into participation, effectiveness, and compliance adherence.
  • Continuously evaluate training outcomes through metrics, surveys, and feedback, adjusting content and delivery as necessary to meet evolving requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in leadership training, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of effective learning strategies.
  • Recommend new tools, platforms, and approaches to enhance training delivery and engagement.

Compliance

  • Conduct periodic reviews and updates of all training materials to reflect regulatory changes and compliance best practices.
  • Monitor the current policies and systems in place and ensure that they comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Train leaders and team members on the laws and regulations, so there is no ambiguity in the compliance and risk for the jobs that they perform.
  • Curate and maintain control systems to identify and handle breaking of rules and any violations.
  • Oversee all the business processes that involve compliance and regulations.
  • Take timely actions to ensure compliance, both with state and federal regulations and internal company policies.
  • Report and document on potential compliance risks, as a main HR compliance risk manager
  • Investigate gaps in the current strategies related to compliance and rectify them as per the regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor the current policies and systems and ensure that they comply with state and federal regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, compliance, business administration or a related field.
  • 5+ years of corporate and leadership training experience with a focus on developing talent and maintaining compliance within regulatory topics.
  • Experience in organization design, succession planning and talent assessment cycles
  • Proficiency in developing training programs across multiple formats (in-person, e-learning, hybrid).
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Certifications in corporate training, learning and development, or compliance are desirable.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning software.
  • Meticulous with strong analytical skills to interpret training metrics and compliance data.
  • Initiative-taking, problem solving mindset focused on continuous improvement and training effectiveness.

Pay Range: $103,000 - $122,000
