Seeking a strategic, results-driven leader to develop and scale organic social media, online community engagement, influencer/affiliate marketing, and brand partnership initiatives.

Role Overview

  • The Head of Social Media & Brand Partnerships will drive organic brand presence, grow online communities, and establish high-impact partnerships with influencers, affiliates, content creators, media partners, and other brands. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution to ensure the brand remains culturally relevant, community-driven, and revenue-generating.
  • The role involves developing and executing full-funnel organic marketing strategies, collaborating with content creators, negotiating partnerships, and overseeing influencer-driven sales initiatives. The candidate will also manage Social Media Assistants, with team growth expected over time to support execution.
  • This position will collaborate closely with leaders responsible for social commerce strategies (TikTok Shop, Instagram Shop) and community growth across different platforms, demographics, and regions.

Key Responsibilities

Organic Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute a data-driven organic social media strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee content ideation, creation, and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
  • Maintain a content calendar with engaging, platform-specific content that drives brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
  • Lead community management, ensuring strong engagement and timely responses.
  • Leverage user-generated content (UGC) and brand storytelling to enhance authenticity and customer trust.
  • Identify and capitalize on trends, viral moments, and cultural conversations to maximize organic reach.
  • Work cross-functionally with email, SMS, paid media, and product teams to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Manage and mentor the Social Media Assistant and Community Manager, providing strategic direction and support.

Influencer, Affiliate & Ambassador Marketing

  • Develop and scale a high-performing influencer, affiliate, and ambassador marketing program.
  • Identify, recruit, and manage influencers, affiliates, and brand ambassadors, focusing on creator-led campaigns.
  • Oversee negotiations, contracts, and performance tracking to maximize ROI from influencer collaborations.
  • Establish long-term partnerships with high-impact influencers and industry thought leaders.
  • Launch and oversee UGC and social selling initiatives, leveraging influencer content for paid ads and email/SMS campaigns.
  • Use tracking tools to analyze influencer and affiliate-driven revenue, optimizing based on data insights.

Strategic Brand Partnerships & Collaborations

  • Identify and execute brand-to-brand collaborations, giveaways, and co-branded product launches.
  • Build strategic alliances with complementary DTC brands, major influencers, and wellness communities.
  • Develop brand activation campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, and event partnerships to amplify brand reach.
  • Negotiate and manage cross-promotional campaigns, co-marketing initiatives, and ambassador-led brand initiatives.
  • Drive growth through podcast partnerships, media collaborations, and expert endorsements.

Content & Community Growth Strategy

  • Develop a content strategy that maximizes reach, engagement, and conversions through organic, influencer, and brand-generated content.
  • Leverage short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) to increase organic visibility and engagement.
  • Plan and execute social-first brand campaigns, live shopping events, and interactive community-driven activations.
  • Lead experiential marketing efforts such as wellness retreats, fitness challenges, and pop-up activations.
  • Build a strong brand community through Facebook Groups, Discord, and private membership programs.
  • Guide the Community Manager in executing engagement strategies.

Performance Tracking, Optimization & Innovation

  • Own social and influencer marketing KPIs, including follower growth, engagement, influencer-driven revenue, and brand awareness metrics.
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Emplifi, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Shopify, TikTok Creator Marketplace, GRIN) to measure performance and optimize strategy.
  • Continuously A/B test content formats, partnerships, and influencer activations.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging social media platforms, creator tools, and algorithm changes.
  • Report on organic social and partnership performance, providing actionable insights to leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in social media management, influencer/affiliate marketing, and brand partnerships for a DTC e-commerce brand or agency.
  • Proven track record of growing social media followings, engagement, and influencer-driven revenue.
  • Experience negotiating and managing brand collaborations, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of social algorithms, UGC, short-form content trends, and community engagement strategies.
  • Deep experience in organic TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging social media platforms.
  • Strong relationships with creators, influencers, athletes, and media in the wellness and fitness space is a plus.
  • Experience using influencer marketing platforms (e.g., GRIN, Upfluence, AspireIQ, TikTok Creator Marketplace).
  • Self-starter who can own the strategy, work independently, and scale programs efficiently.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure performance, optimize campaigns, and present insights.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
