Job Summary:
This junior-level position will provide essential support to the real estate team, assisting with a wide range of tasks related to commercial leases, property acquisitions and dispositions, and other real estate matters. This role reports directly to the Senior Real Estate Paralegal.
Responsibilities:
- Lease Management: Assist with the administration of commercial leases for the company's facilities across the US and Canada, including tracking lease expirations, renewals, and providing necessary notices.
- Lease Documentation: Prepare and review lease-related documents such as estoppels, notices of commencement, and other correspondence.
- Acquisitions and Dispositions: Support the legal team with real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence, document preparation, and closing coordination.
- Title Review: Assist with title reviews and resolution of title issues.
- Property Management Support: Collaborate with the internal "property group" on various real estate-related projects (details to be further defined).
- Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams, external clients, and other parties involved in real estate transactions.
- File Management: Maintain and organize both electronic and physical real estate files.
- Research: Conduct basic legal research related to real estate matters as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar
- Experience with commercial real estate transactions, including leases, acquisitions, and dispositions ideal.
- Strong interest in real estate law and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
