GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of Accounting Manager is to oversee and manage various aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial management. Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the quarterly review and the annual audit.
  • Using ERP, entry AR invoice and AP bill to ERP.
  • Identifying and correcting any errors that occur due to data entry.
  • Bank reconciliation, balance sheet balance reconciliation.
  • Manage the organization's cash flow, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash balances.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Identify areas of financial risk and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist in creating financial forecasts based on market trends and business projections.
  • Continuously assess and improve accounting and financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement new systems or tools to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • Over 6 years of experience in progressively responsible accounting roles, with some experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
  • Business level speaking and writing skill in Japanese.
  • Understanding of income tax and corporate income tax, VAT and Performs calculations and tax returns related to sales tax.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Google workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented mindset and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with ERP.
  • Experience of BI tool is plus.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong math and research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background working in Japanese Company is plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work is typically performed either in an office environment with a moderate noise level or at your home.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to frequently sit and occasionally must stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen, measure, or identify using eyesight and adjust vision focus.
  • Abilities to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups.
