Job Summary:

We are looking for a Technical Designer / Design Assistant to join our women’s apparel team and support the design and development process from concept to production. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in garment construction, fit, and specifications while also possessing hand-sketching skills to bring design concepts to life. This role is perfect for someone passionate about fashion, technical precision, and collaboration with designers and manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with designers and tech design to create and update technical drawings, CADs, and tech packs with accurate measurements, materials, and construction details.
  • Assist in pattern management, fit sessions, and sample evaluations, ensuring the proper fit and functionality of garments.
  • Create and maintain spec sheets, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and production templates.
  • Collaborate with factories and vendors to communicate pattern adjustments, garment construction details, and fit corrections.
  • Review and provide feedback on proto samples, fit samples, and production samples to ensure they meet design expectations.
  • Conduct fabric and trim sourcing, ensuring compliance with design and production requirements.
  • Track and manage the development timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
  • Support the design team with trend research, mood boards, and presentations.
  • Maintain organized design files, sample libraries, lab dip libraries and tech pack records.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical design or design assistant role, preferably in women’s apparel.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel
  • Knowledge of garment construction, patterns, fit, and textiles.
  • Experience working with tech packs, creating line sheets and color cads.
  • Ability to work with overseas and domestic manufacturers and understand timelines, techpack accuracy and proper sewby samples
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for women’s fashion trends and innovation.
