Purpose of position: To support the Quality Department in the areas of quality system matters, document review, and continuous improvement to ensure Segers Aero Corp compliance with regulations and procedures.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).
- Trains, coaches, and develop inspectors as necessary to ensure goals are met and proper procedures and policies are followed.
- Daily inspection requirements (MRB’s) to support the production schedule
- Leads or participates in improvement efforts to improve turn time, reduce errors or reduce costs using continuous improvement tools.
- Completes inspections in accordance with approved technical data
- Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds
- Compare product with parts list or sample model to ensure correct configuration
- Uses dimensional inspection tools to complete inspections
- Rejects defective parts and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag
- Utilizes the electronic database to complete transactions
- Completes paperwork required for quality system
- Initiates requisitions for quality control equipment and materials as necessary
- Maintains accurate and timely records of inspections
- Performs internal compliance audits per company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Prepares for and participates in external third-party audits.
- Participates in or leads root cause investigations for internal audit findings, customer returns, customer complaints, test cell rejects, non-conforming components, etc.
- Follows-up on Corrective Action Request (CAR) items and Manufacturing Change Request (MCR) and ensures items and requests are addressed, corrected, and closed.
- Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and/or procedures to increase efficiency of the department and promote improvement.
- Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm.
- Travels as required
- Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
- Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
- Works overtime as needed
- Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically to support the business needs
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
- Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrate competent knowledge within their specific job area
- Demonstrated ability to interpret manuals and adequate follow through
- Ability to train to effectively ensure Quality Assurance processes are accomplished
- Must be able to perform all quality assurance criteria with little to no assistance
- Ability to accurately perform root-cause analysis and investigate technical-based questions
- Ability to identify and seek out best safety practices and ensure they are being met across the department
- Must have the ability to break down complex issues into smaller parts and analyze them systematically to accurately perform root-cause analysis.
- Must be certificated through the FAA (Repairmen Certificate or A&P)
- Must be able to read and interpret SDS and Technical Data Sheets in accordance with specifications
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers micrometers, hard gauges, dial bores gauges, height gauges and other surface plate equipment.
- Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative.
- Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
- Must be able to apply common sense.
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must be proficient in specific company software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
- Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally.
- Must be able to see within the normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to hear with or without aids.
- Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Must regularly be able to reach overhead
- Must regularly be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, twist and stand.
- Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.
- Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
- Ability to provide verification of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.
- High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Quality Assurance or a related field is a plus.
- A minimum of one year of experience is required.
- Certificated through the FAA (Repairmen Certificate or A&P) is required.
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools is required
- The position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations. Must pass a criminal background check and DOT drug screen and comply with all FAA regulations. Subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT FAA’s regulations.
